Md. Mosaddequr Rahman, PhD
Professor and Chairperson
Dr Mosaddequr, a graduate of BUET from Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department in 1991, obtained his Doctor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from Nagoya Institute of Technology (NIT), Nagoya, Japan in 1999. He has served as a faculty of BUET (1991-1993), King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia (2001-2005) and as a visiting lecturer at NIT, Nagoya, Japan (1999-2001). He was also involved with the research and development of MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems)-based ultrasonic sensors and actuators at University of Windsor, Windsor, Canada from 2008 to 2009.
Dr Mosaddequr has extensive experience in the growth and characterization of semiconducting thin films and device fabrication techniques, design, analysis and modeling of opto-electronic semiconductor materials and devices, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) based devices, sensors and signal conditioning circuits. Dr. Mosaddeq has published over 50 scientific papers in internationally reputed journals and conference proceedings.
Currently Dr. Mosaddequr is serving as a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Brac University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research interests include solar energy materials and solar cells, photovoltaic systems, novel and low-cost semiconducting thin film materials for opto-electronic device application, and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS)-based sensors and actuators.
Dr. Mosaddequr is a registered professional engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Ontario.
