School of Architecture and Design (SoAD)

The School of Architecture and Design is BRAC University’s new venture. This follows from the tradition set by the Department of Architecture, which has established a name for itself in high quality design education.

The school is comprehensive in its scope to include design disciplines that has relevance to the local context as well as international trends.

The school currently offers certificate and degree programs in:

• Communication Design
• Fashion Design
• Product Design

More programs will soon be offered in:

• Community Design
• Design for Disasters
• User Experience Design
• Industrial Design
• Multimedia Design
• Digital Communication

New design disciplines are evolving all over the world and the school will gradually incorporate those which are relevant.

The school has started operation from Fall 2019 with a certificate course in interior design and will be launching more programs soon.

The school is being led by Prof. Fuad H Mallick as its Dean. Prof. Mallick is the founder of the Department of Architecture and the Post Graduate Programs in Disaster Management at BRAC University.
