International Students

The proceedings commence with all basic information regarding the admission are stated below.

Undergraduate Programs

Academic Requirements

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 in O-Levels in five subjects and A-Levels in  two subjects and  a total GPA of 6.0 according to the BRAC University scale (A=5, B=4, C=3 and D=2). Subjects with E Grade will not be considered.
  • Candidates who have completed higher secondary education (12 years of schooling)   under a system different from SSC/HSC or O/A-Levels will be considered for equivalence by the University on a case to case basis.
  • Attested copies of certificates and transcripts from the foreign ministry of the respective country.


Subject Requirements for Particular Programs

  • Candidates for Engineering and Physical Sciences (EEE, ECE, CSE, APE & PHY) must have a minimum B grade in Physics & Mathematics at the HSC or its equivalent or a minimum C grade in Physics & Mathematics at the 'A'-Levels. Candidates for BSc in Computer Science and BSc in Mathematics must have a minimum B grade in Mathematics at the HSC or a minimum C grade in Mathematics at the A-Levels.

  • Candidates for BSc in Electronic & Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronic Engineering having Physics and Mathematics but not Chemistry at HSC or 'A'-Levels must take a remedial course on Chemistry in addition to the courses required for the program.

  • Candidates for BSc in Biotechnology and Microbiology should have minimum C grade in Biology and Chemistry at HSC/A-levels. Candidates not having Mathematics at HSC/A-levels must take a remedial course on Mathematics in addition to the courses required for the program.

  • Candidates for Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) should have a minimum B grade in Biology and Chemistry at the HSC and SSC levels and C grade in Biology and Chemistry at the A and O-Levels. Candidates not having Mathematics at the HSC/A-Levels must take a remedial course on Mathematics in addition to the courses required for the program.


Postgraduate Programs

Academic Qualifications

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 in O-Levels in five subjects and A-Levels in two subjects according to the BRAC University scale (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1). Only one E is acceptable.
  • Candidates who have completed higher secondary education (12 years of schooling)   under a system different from the SSC/HSC or ‘O/A’ Levels will be considered by the University on a case to case basis.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 in Bachelor’s degree
  • Attested copies of certificates and transcripts from the foreign ministry of the respective country.


Application Deadlines

June 1 for the Fall Semester
November 1 for the Spring Semester
March 1 for the Summer Semester

Medical Insurance

All foreign students will have to get themselves insured for medical coverage including check-ups, hospitalization, etc. BRACU will facilitate the process of insuring with reputable insurance companies in Bangladesh.

Visa

BRACU will assist in expediting the visa process as needed for the foreign student.

Admission Test

All candidates will be required to appear for the admission test.
