Abstract:
The paper weaves in the concept of social accountability into three interrelated themes about CSOs and globalization. First, never
underestimate the power of the common man. Second, globalization can be a force of the good and CSOs can help make it so. Third, in a globalized world, CSOs are going to be important and critical components of the development process. But, their role and organization is not going to be the way it is now. They will have to become one of the major forces to demand appropriate behavior not only from the states, but also from renegade organizations.
