The Department of English and Humanities (ENH) organizes a guest lecture to be delivered by Prof. Dawn Bazely of the Department of Biology, York University. The talk focuses on “Challenges of Environmental Changes and Crises”.
Prof. Bazely is an ecologist and specializes in the study of invasive species and climate change impact on eco systems. She advocates for citizen science and for scientists, including science students, to be better public-science communicators. She spent her sabbatical (2011-12) at Harvard Forest and as a visiting researcher in Oxford University’s Biodiversity Institute.
Her lecture focuses on modern day environmental changes and challenges. Prof. Bazely will focus on its impact on various spectrums of human life and the society itself. She will also talk about adaptation measures and strategies of coping with such challenges in the current circumstances.
