Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements in association with the Bengal Foundation has recently arranged a conversation titled “The future is the City but What will it be?” between two prominent architectural historians and critics, Adnan Morshed (Professor and Chairperson, Department of Architecture, BRAC University) and Kazi Khaleed Ashraf (Director-General, Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements) on Thursday, September 14th, 2017, at Chhayanaut Auditorium, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
A large number of architects, students, and concerned citizens actively participated in this galvanizing debate, first of its kind. The two debaters reflected on the nature of urbanization and development, increasing automobile dependency, ecological susceptibility, and the pedagogy of the architects.
