BRAC University (BRACU) on 1 June 2018 recognised 23 students for their empathetic roles in assisting dining staff and taking care of ill peers during their ongoing semester at Residential Campus, Savar.
The students were selected by their peers and teachers on the campus. Their guardians were invited and each presented a Neem sapling.
One father spoke of how any achievement of children made parents happy and advocated for taking children abroad to experience lives there.
The dining-in-charge, Shahidullah, spoke of how the students not only assisted him and his 42 colleagues but at one time treated them with ice cream.
Rehan Ahmed, campus superintendent, informed that two groups of students had gone out that morning to visit and spend some quality time at an old home and an orphanage catering to children of the Rana Plaza building collapse victims.
