On 29th October, 2016, BRAC Business School successfully organized “Interns’ Meet- Fall’2016”, an event for the current interns of BRAC Business School, at the BRAC University auditorium. Professor Rahim B. Talukdar, the Adviser to the School, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Professor, Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Associate Professor and Head of Operations, Md. Tamzidul Islam, Assistant Professor and Internship Coordinator and Dr. Md. Mamun Habib, Associate Professor, and other respected faculty members of BRAC Business School were present at the event to discuss with the interns the most challenging yet exciting phase in their careers.
Through this program, the interns were given a floor to share their perspectives and get answers to their queries regarding their future involvement in the corporate world. At first Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz inspired the students with his views on the effectiveness of the internship program, while Md. Tamzidul Islam shared the process of internship and the guidelines that need to be followed. Together with that, the best interns for Summer, 2016, Fariha Ahmed, from BBA, Intern at Nestle and Zubair Matin, from MBA, Intern at Novo Nordisk, were awarded crests as a recognition for their wonderful performances.
During the session many students expressed their internship experiences, achievements, learning and accomplishments and whether they faced any challenges. These were addressed by the speakers who appreciated their conscience and explained to the students the best ways to overcome challenges and achieve success in future. Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed explained to the interns that internship is a stepping stone that takes students from their coursework to real life experiences they can relate to.
Professor Rahim B. Talukdar shared his valuable experiences and inspired the future leaders while telling them “Do whatever you do in a way so that it becomes a learning experience”. He added that the internship program is designed to allow students to learn more about what environment and challenges to expect in an organization and how to tackle them accordingly. He concluded the discussion by congratulating all the interns and wishing them luck for the bright future ahead of them.
