Seven students pursuing BS in microbiology program presented their theses on 16 June, 2016 in Room UB21511 of the MNS Department. Fatema Ahmed Konica, Faria Yesmin, Faria Mahjabeen, Tasnia Islam, Tasnim Mortuza, Muniara Juthi and Sazzad Khan presented their research study in environmental microbiology , medical microbiology and molecular biology. The research studies were conducted at the microbiology labs at the MNS Dept. under the supervision of Dr. Mahboob Hossain. The Exam Committee was chaired by Professor A.A.Z Ahmad. Dr. Mahboob Hossain, MS. Fahareen Binta Mosharraf and MS Namista Islam were also present. The Examination Committee lauded the quality research work of the students.
Two students, of undergraduate program in biotechnology , Md. Minhazur Rahman and Sadia Zaman Shormee presented their theses on 28 June, 2016 in Room UB 21511 of the MNS Department.
Title of the thesis of Md. Minhazur Rahman was “Establishment of in vitro regeneration protocol of Gerbera jamesonii from different explants”. The work was conducted at the biotechnology labs of the MNS Dept. under the supervision of Ms. Jebunnesa Chowdhury, Assistant Professor.
Sadia Zaman Shormee presented her thesis titled “Rhizogenesis of regenerated shoot in Bangladeshi sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) varieties”. The research work was carried out at the biotechnology labs of the MNS Dept. under the supervision of Dr. Aparna Islam, Associate Professor.
The Viva-Voce Examination was chaired by Professor A. A. Z. Ahmad and attended by Dr. Mahboob Hossain, Dr. Aparna Islam, Ms. Jebunnesa Chowdhury, and Ms. Romana Siddique. The Examination Committee appreciated the quality research work of the students.
