According to the Government of Bangladesh, there are 18,550 nurses, 5,373 medical technologists against 21,553 physicians under Ministry of Health, Family Welfare (MOHFW). In
Bangladesh, the ratio of physicians, nurses and technologists is as follows - 1 Physician: 0.82 Nurse: 0.3 Technologist, whereas internationally recommended skill-mix is ratio is 1 Physician: 3 Nurse: 5 Technologist. This inadequacy in health workforce and their current skill-mix is ratio is not supporting the government to achieve #SDG 3.8 on time.
Considering these facts, Centre of Excellence-Universal Health Coverage, JPGSPH, BRAC University, jointly with Health Economic Unit, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, organised a discussion session on 27th September 2016. The purpose of this session was to build awareness on core concepts of UHC (including its scope and components)
