On 20th February 2025, BRAC University hosted the closing ceremony of "UDDOKTA 101 Cohort 7" which was a remarkable event, marking the graduation of 29 women entrepreneurs who completed their training under this prestigious program. Jointly offered by BRAC Bank and BRAC University, UDDOKTA 101 aims to empower women entrepreneurs across diverse business sectors, from small-scale enterprises to large-scale ventures.
The event was filled with motivation, energy, and a sense of accomplishment as the graduates received their certificates, symbolizing their hard work and dedication. The presence of distinguished guests further elevated the significance of the ceremony. Representing BRAC Bank, Khadija Mariam (Head of Women Entrepreneur Cell), Mohammad Jakirul Islam (Head of SME Strategy, Innovation & New Business), and Nafisa Shadaf (Senior Manager, CSR Resource Mobilization) graced the event.
From BRAC University, Dr. Nusrat Hafiz (Assistant Professor & Director of the Women Empowerment Cell) and Mr. Mukit Anis (Lecturer & Program Lead, Uddokta101) were present to extend their support and encouragement to the graduates. Dr. Hafiz inspired the ceremony with her motivational speech, joined by Ms. Mariam and Mr. Islam. They also emphasized that this graduation is just the beginning of a long-term association aimed at fostering more initiatives to support and uplift women entrepreneurs.
One of the highlights of the event was the much-anticipated pitch competition, where the top three entrepreneurs were awarded prize money as recognition of their innovative business ideas. The guests jointly presented the awards, celebrating the winners’ creativity, resilience, and potential for future success. As the ceremony ended on a high note, it reinforced the commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and paving the way for a stronger, more inclusive business landscape.
