A coordination meeting was held at C3ER, BRAC University on 17 July 2017. Dr. Ainun Nishat, Professor Emeritus and Adviser of C3ER, BRAC University, Dr. A Atiq Rahman, Executive Director of BCAS and Dr. Saleemul Huq, Director of ICCCAD participated in the meeting. Mr. Tanvir Mahmud, IBP Manager, Governance Expert, PROKAS Programme, British Council; Ms. Roufa Khanum, Coordinator, Operations from C3ER and Mr. Fokhrul Alam Khandaker joined along with the three experts. The meeting started with a welcome speech by Dr. Ainun Nishat. After that Dr. Nishat explained the background and briefed about the issue based project Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism (CFTM) and the roles of the five partners in this project.
Mr. Tanvir Mahmud, explained the outcomes that are expected to be achieved. He has also explained the three circles of relationship. He informed that the second phase of the project would be with the IMED. There is a probability of having an annual review on CFTM on next month. So the achievements of PROKAS and its evaluation can have impact on extension possibility of the program.
Dr. Huq said that tide changed from negative to positive. DFID is more positive than before but each case has to be assessed carefully. By this year some definitions and categorization are expected to be identified, Dr. Huq added.
Dr. Rahman spoke about emphasizing on the poor as well as the people at grass roots level for better contact in the second phase.
