CSE faculty member, Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department, BRAC University visited MIT Media Lab, MIT, USA and had an hour long meeting on 15 February 2018 at 4.00 PM. with Prof. V. Michel Bove, Head of Object Based Media Group at MIT Media Lab. In this meeting, they discussed about the new techniques of 3D glass free 3D display and 3D TV. Dr. Alam shared two of his new ideas (i.e., 1. Real-time integral imaging 3D display system using multi-directional projections and GPU parallel processing; and 2. 3D Internet TV System) designed/developed by Computer Vision and Intelligent Systems (CVIS) Research Lab of BRAC University. Dr. Alam visits some of their Lab setups and prototypes of 3D display systems developed by the Object Based Media research group of MIT Media Lab.
Dr. Alam also visited Multi-dimensional Optical Sensing and Imaging System (MOSIS) Research Lab at University of Connecticut, USA on 9 February 2018, where he met H.S. Kim (Ex. Lab mate in OIP Lab, Chungbuk National University, Korea) who is currently pursuing Ph.D degree under Prof. Bahram Javidi, a Distinguished Professor and a member of the Board of Trustees of University of Connecticut. Dr. Alam happily shared that one of his journal articles is cited by an article of Prof. Javidi in October 2015. (http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7052312/).
