Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics unveiled the report “Bangladesh Disaster-related Statistics 2015: Climate Change and Natural Disaster Perspectives”, under the Impact of Climate Change on Human Life (ICCHL) Programme, held at the NEC Auditorium (Planning Commission), Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka on Sunday, 26 June 2016. Mr. A H M Mustafa Kamal, FCA, MP, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Planning Commission, Government of Bangladesh unveiled the printed report as well as web version report. Mr. Md. Shah Kamal, Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Dr. Atiq Rahman, Executive Director, Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) and Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal, Chairman, Department of Disaster Science and Management, University of Dhaka were present as Special Guest. The ceremony was chaired by Mr. K M Mozammel Hoq, Secretary, Statistics and Informatics Division. The report said natural disasters in those six years claimed most losses of crops – worth Tk 66.7 billion or 36.2 percent of the total loss. Dr. Md. Sajidur Rahman, Assistant Professor, C3ER, BRAC University attended the dissemination ceremony.
