Before starting his doctoral studies at University of Cambridge, he had successfully completed his M.Sc in Pharmacogenetics and Stratified Medicine at the Department of Genetics, University College London (UCL), UK.
In his 8 years of experience in academic and research career, Sharif held positions such as, Visiting Lecturer in Biochemistry at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, Erasmus Masters supervisor, University of Cambridge, UK, undergraduate supervisor in organic chemistry, University of Cambridge, UK, Lecturer in Pharmacy, East West University, Bangladesh, Academic Fellowship at Istanbul University, Turkey, Research Fellowship in University of Michigan, USA and Regional Head of WHO-IPSF IMPACT Project, Switzerland. His research interest includes Pharmacogenetics, Chemoinformatics, Drug repurposing, Machine Learning, AI, Pharmacy. He is an active member of International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK and Ambassador at European Association for Cancer Research (EACR).
Mr. Rubayat Islam Khan completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology from Purdue University, College of Pharmacy, West Lafayette, IN and Master of Science in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy (IPPH) with a concentration in Pharmaceutics from Purdue University, College of Pharmacy, West Lafayette, IN.
As a graduate researcher, he had worked with several advanced analytical methods such as X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Infra-red spectroscopy (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) etc. He also worked with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to examine the differences in crystallinity for various commercial formulations of Warfarin Sodium using XRPD and to test the dissolution rates of extended release Lamotrigine tablets using HPLC.
Ms. Sinayat Mahzabeen did her B.Pharm (Hons.) from North South University and M.Sc (Taught) in Pharmacology from the Department of Pharmacology, University Of Oxford, Oxford, United Kingdom. The topic of her dissertation is ‘Ca2+ clock in mouse sinoatrial node through high-resolution optical imaging and characterization of sinoatrial node in p21 -activated kinase-1 knockout mice under stressed condition’.
The Department of Pharmacy is also very delighted to inform that, Ms. Nishat Zareen Khair, Senior Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy has left for pursuing Ph.D. in Drug Discovery and Development at University of South Australia, Australia. On behalf of the Department of Pharmacy, we wish her all the best.
