The Department of Architecture at BRAC University has organized an exhibition of the final-year thesis projects, inaugurated on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
The opening ceremony was attended by BRAC University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Ansar Ahmed, Ph.D., Chairperson of the Department of Architecture Professor Adnan Z. Morshed, faculty members, parents, students and the media. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, KCMG, and Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed also attended the exhibition. The thesis project is the culmination of five years of learning in the Bachelor of Architecture program. The exhibition was designed to showcase architecture to the general public. There were thirty three projects during the Fall 2017 semester among which ten were selected for the exhibition. The projects address pressing social issues that Bangladesh currently faces. The projects include the development of transgender and autism academies, low cost housing, language museum, children’s play spaces, urban market places, etc.
The exhibition is in sync with the Department’s core mission to make architectural learning a dynamic public discourse and bring architecture closer to the people. It will run through Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Exhibition Space on the 14th floor of the Department of Architecture, BRAC University, 66 Mohakhali, Dhaka-1212. All are most welcome.
