BRAC University "Freshman Orientation, Spring 2017" was held on January 2, 2017 at Army Golf Garden, Dhaka.
BRACU Vice Chancellor Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Ph.D., presented the inaugural speech, congratulating around 1,300 students for qualifying for admission for the Spring 2017 ungraduate session at BRACU, which ranks among the very best in Bangladesh.
He said BRACU aims to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also conscious, conscientious, ethical, humane, filled with empathy and those who contribute to society. He also added that BRACU gave out nearly Tk 8.38 crore in scholarships last year.
Two video presentations were screened, giving students an overview of BRACU, its important aspects, its residential semester at the Savar campus, the experiences awaiting them and their responsibilities for success in their academic life within a research-intensive environment. Moreover, BRACU almuni shared their experiences.
All heads of the departments, faculty members and administrative staff welcomed the students along with their parents who attended the orientation. Professor Salehuddin Ahmed, Ph.D. from BRAC Bussiness School, presented the closing remarks.
