James P. Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) at BRAC University organized a conference jointly with American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB) on 29 November 2014. The objective of the conference was to provide a platform to encourage young public health professionals to harness their ideas into research. A total of 65 students and faculty participated, from icdd,rb, AIUB, BIRDEM, Holy Family Medical College & Hospital.
A selection of USAID’s Next Generation of Public Health Experts (NGPHEP) Research Fellows presented their research project abstracts, including: Ms. Shahana Siddiqui, Dr. A S M Nurullah Awal, Mr. Taimur Reza, Dr. Md Ashraful Alam, Dr. Kamruzzaman Mihir Khan, Mr. Tapas Mazumder. Professor Dr. Malabika Sarker, Research Director, JPGSPH at BRAC University moderated the lively and interactive session. There was keen interest in the MAYA project, ICT based-learning, medical humanities, and problem-based learning techniques. The conference was deemed a success and discussion for future such events was encouraged.
