The Managing Director of Transcom Food Limited and freedom fighter- Mr. Akku Chowdhury took a master class at BRAC University upon invitation from BRAC Business School. He addressed the students of the course International Business on issues of globalization, conflict of interest and ethics in workplace.
He started of the session on his take on the 1971 liberation war as the root that made us a part of the global village. The increased westernized pattern of lifestyle has inflicted many a different consumer society which has created the much needed global entrepreneurial ventures. He has urged the students to understand the utmost necessity of realization of self-worth and self-value. Just like KFC and Pizza Hut has to strive on brand value and customer retention plan, so does any individual who wishes to make a mark in the society they live in. Be it in business or employment, the students must consider customers as their boss- people who are parting with their money to buy products and services should be given the preferences to chose. He also answered students query on company franchise policy, customer services, business opportunities, impact of social media and upcoming budget and it’s potential impact on the fast-food industry.
Ms. Bonna Mirza, Head of Marketing for Bangla Tribune was also present at the event. Ms Mahreen Mamoon, Assistant Professor, BRAC Business School organized the session as a part of knowledge sharing and industry connection for her students and also to encourage the students to be a better citizen for the community in bridging academic skills with collaborative professionalism.
