Mr. Ahmed Ataul Hakeem joined as the Controller of Examinations at BRAC University in January 2018.
Mr. Hakeem held many prestigious positions throughout his career. He served as the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh during February 2008 to February 2013. Prior to joining as the Controller of Examinations of BRAC University, he served as the Ombudsperson of BRAC for 4 years.
He joined the Bangladesh Civil service: Audit and Accounts Cadre in August 1979, prior to that, he served in the Planning Commission of Bangladesh as Research Officer, Program Supervisor of BRAC and part-time teacher of Notre Dame College, Dhaka.
Mr. Hakeem completed his school and college level education with brilliant records as a cadet from the Momenshahi (now Mirzapur) Cadet College in 1970. He completed BA (Hons.) & MA in Economics from the University of Dhaka in 1974. He also completed MSS in Development Finance from the Birmingham University, England in 1987. He obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Bangladesh Open University in 2003. He received the certificate in Public Sector Budgeting from Harvard University, USA and Financial Management Practice from Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA), England. He is also a Fellow Cost and Management Accountants (FCMA from ICMAB) since 1995.
He was elected member of the Governing Board of ASOSAI (Asian Association of Supreme Audit Institutions) for the 2009-2012 period.
