A training session on Emergency Management held at BRAC University on March 29, 2018.
The training was jointly organized by the Community Development for Peace Foundation and ACCESS Alumni Society of Bangladesh. The program was hosted by the Postgraduate Programs in Disaster Management (PPDM) of BRAC University.
This training was a part of Community College Initiative (CCIP) alumni activities. This will be video documented by Story Center team whom will be joining from Washington DC, USA. StoryCenter, is an association that creates spaces in transforming lives and communities through the acts of listening to and sharing stories. Overview of the CCI program was given by Allison Myers, Director of StoryCenter, USA.
The training was provided by officials from the Bangladesh Fire Fighting, Civil Defense Department and the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
Fire Service officers and Red Cross volunteer also moderated the Practical session on Log Roll. Session on First aid was conducted by Dr. Hemal Rahman, Founder & President, Youth Club of Bangladesh (YCB).
Presentation on earthquake was given by Muhammad Ferdaus Lecturer & Coordinator Postgraduate Programs in Disaster Management, BRAC University
Dr. Ansar Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor, spoke about the role of academic institutions in the field of Disaster Management.
Kelly Ryan, Cultural Affairs Officer, The American Center, Naoki Matsumura, Country Program Coordinator, Japan International Corporation, Dhaka, Bangladesh also attended this training session as guests.
