BRAC Business School organized a two-day training and workshop on “Structural Equation Modeling: Basics and Applications for Publishing Research Paper” on 27 & 29 July 2017. The participants of the workshop were faculty members of different universities including BRAC University, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB), and Presidency University. Dr. Khan M. Raziuddin Taufique, Assistant Professor of BRAC Business School was the key resource person for the entire training session. Dr. Taufique has published some 13 articles in refereed journals, presented 12 refereed conference papers and produced 2 book chapters. Besides teaching and research, he has expertise in conducting training and workshop on multivariate data analysis and supervising research students. Prof. Sayed Saad Andaleeb, PhD, the Vice Chancellor of BRAC University and the chief editor of Journal of Bangladesh Studies was also present at the closing session of workshop. Prof. Andaleeb made a short presentation on hands-on tips and guidelines for writing and publishing research paper to good quality journals. He also shared his vast research experience and advised the participants to focus on quality rather than quantity of publications.
The workshop covered a range of topics related to collect, analyze and interpret research data using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). In addition to the theoretical session, there were three special sessions with valid data set to provide the participants with hands-on experience in analyzing the data and interpreting the results using SEM applying in AMOS software. Certificates were distributed to all participants at the end of the workshop. The entire program was coordinated by Md. Saif Hossain, Senior Lecturer of BRAC Business School.
