Thirty-eight undergraduate students of Biotechnology Program along with three faculty members, Professor Dr. Aparna Islam, Ms. Kashmery Khan and Mr. S M Rakib-Uz-Zaman have visited the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) on 23rd of November, 2017 to have a practical idea about the biotechnological research activities going on there. Director, PSO and Senior Scientists of BCSIR welcomed the team and gave a brief of the research programs that are going on at BCSIR. During the half day visit they explored four different research divisions including Tissue culture laboratory, Fiber and polymer research division, Spirulina pilot plant and Pharmaceutical science laboratory etc. Each division was elaborately explained to the group by the eminent scientists. This tour helped the students to understand various biotechnological techniques that they are studying in several courses at their undergraduate level. The team came back enriched with experience and renewed hope for the advancement of research and development in the country through biotechnological research.
