Kazi Sarjana Safain of B.S. in microbiology program of the MNS Department presented her thesis on July 30, 2017. The title of her thesis was “ Screening of silver resistance gene in clinical isolates and determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for silver nitrate.”. The work was supervised by Dr. Kaiissar Mannor, Head, Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi). The Examination Committee was chaired by Professor Dr. A. F. M. Yusuf Haider, Chairperson, MNS Department. Professor M. Mahboob Hossain, , Ms. Romana Siddique, Mr. Mahbubul Hasan Siddiquee and Ms. Trosporsha Tasnim Khan were also present as members of the Examination Committee.
Two students, Samiha Kabir and Sheikh Mehbish Jahan presented their undergraduate theses on Monday, 30 July.2017 in Room UB 21511 of the MNS Department. The title of their theses were ‘Apple, Guava and Pineapple Fruit Extracts as Antimicrobial Agents against Pathogenic Bacteria, and ‘Comparison among the Antimicrobial Activities of Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula and Terminalia bellerica’ respectively. They were jointly supervised by Professor Mahboob Hossain and Ms. Romana Siddique.
The Viva-Voce Examination for the presentation was chaired by Professor Dr. A. F. M. Yusuf Haider and attended by Professor Mahboob Hossain, Dr. Aparna Islam and Ms. Romana Siddique.
