We know that peace of mind is a natural state, and is available to everyone. However, sometimes, in this fast pace of life, we become restless to think about our future hope or dream, or away from things in our past. Sometimes, we may also lose our connection with life, with ourselves, and forget to enjoy the joyous journey of life. In that case, meditation helps to take a break for a while and pay attention to appreciate how precious life is.
With this awareness, the Counseling Unit of BRAC University has been hosting a series of workshops on meditation named “Meditation: A Piece of Peace” for the students, faculty members and staff since January 15, 2017 on every Sunday from 09am-10am at Residential Campus, Savar. One member from the Counseling Unit, Ms. Monzia Mushtaq, Psychosocial Counselor and Lecturer facilitated the workshop. Through the meditations, the participants have been getting the unique opportunity to reduce stress, enhance peace and eventually can better connect with the inner self.
Various meditations were conducted such as Soham Meditation, Pranayam- Breathing Exercises; Creating Inner Awareness and Safe Place, Thank You Life, Wish Giving Meditations, Smile and Happiness-Imagery Relaxation Meditation etc. Participants shared a great deal of satisfaction.
