Students should engage in club activities alongside academic studies for their mental growth, to address social issues and to become complete persons, said BRAC University (BRACU) Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Ansar Ahmed, Ph.D.
He said this while inaugurating a three-day Club Fair titled “CLUB MINIVER” at the auditorium and cafeteria of BRACU’s Mohakhali campus in the capital at 10:00 am aiming to introduce its clubs to freshers and enroll voluntary members, as is done every semester.
A one-minute silence was observed paying homage to martyrs of the Language Movement and International Mother Language Day on February 21.
Organised by BRAC University Drama and Theatre Forum this time, the fair witnessed 26 clubs erecting stalls and booths under different themes using colourful posters and props that represent their activities.
The inauguration saw a dance by a flash mob and students are scheduled to perform songs and drama, screen movies and engage in other interesting activities. Musician Rafa and band Kureghor performed well.
Dilara Afroz Khan, Director, Office of Co-Curricular Activities, and Mr. Ivan Shafaat Bari, Director, Office of Career Services and Alumni Relations, were present.
