The strength of a livable city are its public places and public transportation. One of the key challenges of Dhaka's public places and transportation is the threat of sexual harassment.
This unfortunate condition diminishes the city's ability to appeal to city inhabitants, particularly women. How can we improve the social atmosphere of the public sphere?
We believe that first we need to share our experiences. We need to speak up and put pressure on policymakers to bring about change in the way we act as urban citizens.
To create gender-friendly urban spaces we need to build social awareness of the harassment problem.
The proposed forum, "The Invisible Violence," will take place on TUESDAY, June 5, 1 - 2:30 pm, Exhibition Space, 14th floor, Building 4.
