About CRBLP Byabaharik Bangla Abhidhan

The development of paper based Bangla Academy ~ Byabaharik Bangla Abhidhan ~began in 1961 and it's first edition was published in 1974. This website provides the electronic version of the dictionary released by CRBLP.

To use this dictionary, simply type a word in Bangla in the search box that appears at the page and then click on the 'Search' button. This will perform a search for the word in our lexicon database. If you don't know how to spell the word correctly, just make the best assumption. On doing so, you will get a list of suggestions. Currently, this lexicon contains more than 30 thousand entries.

The CRBLP Team does not guarantee the accuracy of this dictionary nor its suitability for any specific purpose. In fact, we expect a number of errors, omissions and inconsistencies to persist in the dictionary, especially because the dictionary has yet not been proof-read after conversion to the electronic form. We intend to continually update the dictionary as we make progress in correcting them. From time to time, new versions with improved accuracy will be released.
