Dr. Md Abul Kalam Azad joined the Department of Pharmacy at Brac University as an Assistant Professor in January, 2019. He always cherished a dream to follow his passion, teaching. That is why he grabbed the opportunity in the department of Pharmacy, Brac University. He has a PhD in nanotechnology from the University of Bonn, Germany. He earned a fellowship from German Research Foundation (DFG), a fellowship from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for his PhD research. Moreover, beyond his fellowships, he managed two research funds of 3600€ and 3000€ awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Germany, respectively during his PhD research. He published peer review articles in renowned journals and attended many conferences as an invited speaker. After half a year of postdoctoral research at the same university, he had been working in research and development in the field of tissue engineering and surface nanotechnology in Germany to gain industrial experiences before moving to Brac University.
He is a Pharmacy graduate from University of Dhaka. Moreover, he has an MSc degree in Biomimetics from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Germany as well. He started his professional career as a production pharmacist in Radiant Pharmaceutical Limited, Bangladesh. After that he worked in the product management department in Aristopharma Limited, Bangladesh before moving to Germany for higher studies (Winter, 2010).
