Md Shamsuddoha is a historian with a wide array of interests. His areas of interest are colonialism, nationalism, refugee crisis, South Asian studies, Buddhist art and architecture, ethnicity, indigenous community and social inclusion. He has been serving as a Senior Lecturer of History in the School of General Education at BRAC University since 2012. He has also been the part of numerous projects and initiatives at Brac University. Shamsuddoha trained thousands of students as a trainer of a certificate course titled “Recitation and Articulation” at Brac University. Shamsuddoha is the founder and president of Differently-abled Empowerment & Advancement Foundation (DEAF), a Bangladeshi NGO which was established to serve the disabled communities. He is an active researcher in the field of South Asian history and politics. As part of his professional affiliation, Shamsuddoha is associated with a number of international journals as a reviewer and member of the editorial board. He is the member of American Historical Association (AHA) and British Association for South Asian Studies (BASAS).
