Shaiya is an ambitious and dedicated academician with a deep and acute interest in the field of Social Sciences focusing on Women, Gender, and Feminist Studies. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of General Education (GenEd), Brac University, Bangladesh. Prior to joining BracU, Shaiya worked as a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at Brac University and Research Assistant at Karnataka Evaluation Authority (KEA), India. She obtained her MA in Women’s Studies from Bangalore University, India in 2018 and her MA in Literature in English and Cultural Studies (LECS) from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh in 2014. She is awarded the Indian Council for Cultural Relationship (ICCR) Scholarship by the External Ministry of India, as a Postgraduate Scholar for Research in Women and Gender Studies at Bangalore University, India. With the highest rank, she has received Vice-Chancellors’ Gold Medal and Cash Prize for her excellent results in her MA.
