Introduction
The training is designed to give a clear understanding about climate change and its impacts. A pool of renowned academicians/experts will deliver the relevant lectures. At the end of the training, participants will be able to use this learning outcome towards building their professional career. The course will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ainun Nishat, eminent climate change expert and Adviser of the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University.
Learning Method
An appropriate mix of knowledge-sharing methods such as lectures, case study, group work, critical incidents, showing documentary, etc. will be used to communicate the material effectively to the participants.

Introduction
The course is designed to develop the intellectual and practical skills for the application and advancement of the climate change science and subsequent adaptation and mitigation policies. The participants will also gain basic knowledge on the risks and vulnerabilities related to climate induced environmental and social problems. Moreover, a pool of nationally renowned academicians and reputed professionals from various organizations including BUET, DU, BRACU and BRAC will deliver the course lectures. At the end of the course, participants will be well prepared and positioned to accelerate the pace of innovation and growth at their organizations.
Learning Method
Intensive participatory learning tools and techniques will be applied through theories and practices. An appropriate mix of knowledge‐sharing methods such as lectures, case study, group work, critical incidents, showing documentary etc. will be used to communicate the material effectively to the participants. Participants will build and refine practical problem‐solving scientific skills about approaching the challenges of climate change, with the goal of reducing the vulnerabilities of poor population.
How participant will be benefitted
At the end of the module, participants will be able to-
(i) Describe the basics of climate change;
(ii) Explain the future impact & vulnerabilities of climate change;
(iii) Illustrate the impact of climate change with regional examples;
(iv) Describe the links between climate change and different sectors,
(v) Establish the integration of climate change adaptation and disaster risk
reduction principles,
(vi) Differentiate the concepts of mitigation (equivalent to primary prevention)
and adaptation (equivalent to secondary prevention).
