His track record in international matters and his expertise in human resource management are well-recognized. He has also served as a prominent consultant to a number of international universities. In his role as VP International at Brac University, Jonathan is expected to spearhead the creation and fostering of international activities that support teaching, learning, research, and engagement. Jonathan received his MBA from Macquarie University. Additionally, he has a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from Georgetown University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Strathclyde, and is completing a doctoral degree in business from the University of Bath.
Associate Vice President, Student Life: Brac University has named Lady Syeda SarwatAbed as inaugural Associate Vice President for Student Life, effective July 1, 2019. Lady Abed is the founder and director of Brac Institute of Languages (BIL), and has also been serving as the designated in-charge official of the Residential Semester at Brac University’s Savar campus. Owing to her exceptional commitment to student welfare, and her expertise in learning and development, both BIL and the Residential Semester have become distinctive programs of the Brac University student experience. Lady Abed has been supervising a variety of programs that are highly regarded nationally, such as English in Schools, a Robi-The Daily Star joint venture, the pilot phase of the mEducation project, Medhabikash, and Skill Development Training for Advancing Resources in collaboration with UNICEF and BRAC. Lady Abed received her MA in English Literature from Dhaka University.
Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff: Brac University has named Mohammad Mahboob Rahman as Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff, effective immediately. Mahboob is currently Professor and Dean of Brac Business School, a role he assumed earlier this year. Mahboob received his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Missouri, and his PhD from the University of Kansas, both in business administration.
