“After a long bloody war we gave you the Flag of Bangladesh. Now, it's your duty to protect it” said Freedom Fighter Abdul Aziz while describing the significance of liberation war and Bangabandhu’s leadership to the young generation on a cultural program held at BracU.
To commemorate the life of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shekh Mujibur Rahman, International Association of Business Communications (IABC) of Brac University (BracU) organized the program on 19 August 2019 at the auditorium of BracU’s Mohakhali campus.
Marking the National mourning day (15 August) IABC arranged the program. Freedom Fighter Abdul Aziz and Farid Ahmed graced the event by their presence. School children from Jago foundation and BracU students attended the event to hear them.
Mr. Abdul Aziz said that the assassination of Shekh Mujibur Rahman and his family was most tragic in the history. Even Pakistani military forces were unable to kill Bangabandhu but some of our own traitors did this heinous act.
Mr Farid Ahmed recalled that the independence of Bangladesh was a consequence of consistent movement of mass people since 1950 and Bangabandhu gave it ultimate momentum.
He added that, Bangladesh would have become a more developed country under Bangabandhu’s leadership today. He urged to the students to take inspiration from the history and build the country with patience, creativity and harmony.
A short video documentary based on Bangabandhu’s life and his historic speech of 7th March was screened on the occasion. The auditorium was decorated with the paintings of school children. BracU cultural club performed poetry recitation and song as well.
Freedom Fighter Abdul Aziz and Farid Ahmed were given crests by the students. Senior officials and staffs of BracU were present that time.
