Brac Business School (BBS) and Office of Career Services & Alumni Relations (OCSAR), Brac University jointly organized a virtual session, “Alumni Talk: Career in Information Systems” on Wednesday, 08 September, 2021.
The session was intended for the Brac University’s Business and CSE students willing to start their career in the Information Systems sector. The purpose of the session was to learn about the successful strategies of acquiring jobs in the public and private sectors through developing individual competencies in this rapidly growing sector.
The speakers of the session were Mr. Md. Fazle Munim- Technology Expert, a2i (UNDP), Dr. Imran Mahmud- Head, Department of Information Technology & Management and Assistant Professor, Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University and Mr. Naim Uzzaman- VP, Head of Project & Partner Management, bKash Limited. All three of them are the alumni of the School of Engineering, Brac University.
The session was moderated by Mr. Saif Hossain, Assistant Professor & Director (BBA Program), Brac Business School and Executive Secretary, Student Life, Brac University.
The alumni speakers emphasized on the academic CGPA, threading time management as well as understanding the people management through IT. They also discussed the influence of IT governance changes as most organizations go through process-oriented structure which shall add value to the students’ careers, as they’ll have the scope of learning with hands-on experiences.
The session concluded with a vibrant and interactive Q&A session where students queried about internship opportunities, skills, and preparations needed in order to become successful professionals in the IS sector.
