The Office of Career Services & Alumni Relations (OCSAR), BRAC University organized a virtual session, “Alumni Talk Series: Career in the Development Sector” on Tuesday, 28th December'21. Upoma Rashid Nuha, Manager, Outreach and Communications, Integrated Development Program, BRAC, Ummay Kulsum Asha, Human Resources Assistant, United Nations World Food Programme & Samsun Nahar, Human Resources Assistant, Cox’s Bazar, United Nations World Food Programme were the alumni speakers of the session.
Speakers joined the discussion focusing on different career opportunities in the development sector, role of effective communication in the field, diversified areas of specialization that range from research and innovation, humanitarian development, emergency response, logistic advancement and support of the total process and many more. They also discussed the challenges in this field as well as the impact of the current pandemic on this sector.
It was concluded with a vibrant and interactive Q & A session where students inquired about the key factors required for the career growth opportunities within the sector. The session was attended by the current students, alumni, faculty members and staff of BRAC University.
