The installation project " বসন্ত বিলাস " by architecture department students was successfully completed during the residential semester in spring 2023.
Installations were constructed on a real scale at various open places throughout the Residential Semester at Savar using materials that were locally available, such as bamboo, jute, rope, and bamboo mat. The purpose of this architectural exercise is to stimulate the first-year architecture undergraduate students' ability to construct while taking into account the environment, including the sky, clouds, colors, light, music, and the mood of the day.
Working in teams of four, the students constructed their projects throughout the residential campus. With this hands-on learning, they were able to understand more about the characteristics and behavior of conventional materials. Tanjina Khan and Emmat Ara Khanam instructed the students, while Shams Mansoor Ghani, Senior Lecturar, Department of Architecture served as the project's juror.
Architecture students built the project with the assistance of students from various departments, which helped them develop their leadership, camaraderie, teamwork, and interpersonal skills—all of which are important components of the Residential Semester experience at BRAC University
