Ayman Sadiq, founder & CEO of free online education platform 10 Minute School, engaged in an interactive motivational session with BRAC University students at its Savar Residential Campus on Saturday, 28 July 2018.
The distinguished guest of “Residential Semester Day Summer-2018” advised students to immediately start thinking of ways to enrich their CV so that it is completely developed by the time they reach their final year.
Every year 8.5 lakh graduates enter the job market and by 2020, 37 percent of jobs will be unfamiliar, for which students have to develop critical thinking, problem solving and team building skills to be adaptable, he said.
He advised dealing with criticism using Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s “cockroach theory” for self development, meaning going for well-thought out responses instead of instinctively reacting to it.
Campus Superintendent Rehan Ahmed added that creating employment opportunities was also an important task.
Students informed Sadiq of their activities during the Residential Semester including glass painting, animation filmmaking, recitation practices, brainstorming on start up businesses and outsourcing and spending time with the elderly at retirement homes.
Sadiq is a recipient of the 2018 Queen’s Young Leader Award and has been enlisted in Forbe’s 30 Under 30 list.
The Residential Semester day is organised every semester to enlighten students with inspiration stories of people, to motivate them for the future ahead life and to add value to society.
