BRAC Business School organised a workshop titled “Step by Step Guide to Writing Research Paper” on May 6-7 in BRAC University.
The event was marking the “2nd International Conference on Business and Management (ICBM 2019)”, which is scheduled to be held on April 25-27, 2019.
It aimed to provide necessary skills to persons seeking to write high impact research papers for PhD and journals, as it requires careful planning of both the writing and publication processes so that those are not only read, but also turn meaningful to readers.
The workshop was led by Associate Professor Dr Md Mamun Habib, program chair of ICBM 2019 and editor-in-chief, International Journal of Supply Chain Management, UK.
Addressing the workshop, he said research papers should have sufficient data, be direct and go with the age as technological advances effectively brought changes to research, making it very easy to access secondary data.
He also spoke on the importance of developing research, saying that every step, starting from the research topic selection to the publication, should be planned and perfect so that it was understandable to all.
The chief guests were Professor Mirza Azizul Islam, former adviser to a caretaker government, and Professor Salehuddin Ahmed, a former Bangladesh Bank governor.
Placing emphasis on clear, scientific and directional research, Professor Ahmed said research finds out hidden truths while new things were brought about through data and scientific processes.
Professor Islam laid importance on research focusing on the economy.
BBS Assistant Professor Md Hasan Maksud Chowdhury was also present at the workshop which ended with a question-answer session.
