On 27 January 2022, BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL), in collaboration with American International Accreditation Association of Schools and Colleges (AIAASC), initiated ‘The Changing Landscape of Quality Assurance in 21st Century Higher Education’ webinar series with the first session title "The Greening of Comprehensive Internationalization". The speaker of the session was Scott G. Blair, PhD, Director of Accreditation and Quality Assurance at AIAASC, Vice President of CANIE-Europe, and Affiliate at the Gateway International Group, LLC.
In his speech, Dr. Blair explained the need to spread of eco-literacy through university studies to reduce ecological stress and emphasised on the need for instilling the value of renewable energy sources at the forefront of the students' minds. He primarily addressed the questions ‘What strategies and techniques can international educators employ that lead to the “greening” of internationalization? What role do assessment, quality assurance, and institutional accreditation play in this process?’ by presenting six distinct pillars of comprehensive internationalization (as articulated in the ACE-CIGE model of comprehensive internationalization) and viewing them through the lens of sustainability and quality assurance within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event was joined by Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed, Senior Director, BRAC Institute of Languages, and Dr. Ronald J. Kovach, Executive Director, AIAASC, along with educators and researchers from diverse fields from more than 50 different institutions home and abroad.
