BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University is excited to share a new report published by Puspita Hossain (Research Associate) and Professor Malabika Sarker (Associate Dean, Director of Research, and Director of the Center of Excellence for Science of Implementation & Scale-Up, BRAC JPGSPH). The report titled "MATERNAL & NEONATAL HEALTHCARE QUALITY MEASUREMENT: REAL AND DESIRED" was written in collaboration with Metrics for Management (M4M).
This report presents an approach for translating guidelines to practice. Beginning with the indicators included in the 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) Standards for Improving Quality of Maternal and Newborn Care in Health Facilities report, it aims to identify a short list of maternal and neonatal quality of care indicators feasible for routine use in lower level facilities in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Our approach sought to determine which indicators are most likely to be linked to health outcomes and to be relevant to clinic managers to monitor and manage performance.
