Afruza Tanzi a recent Biotechnology Engineering graduate from BRAC University has been selected as the first and only Peace Ambassador from Bangladesh by European Commission to attend One Young World Summit in Manchester, September this year. The annual One Young World Summit brings together 2,000+ of the brightest young leaders from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact both in-person and digitally. Delegates from 190+ countries are counseled by influential political, business, and humanitarian leaders such as Justin Trudeau, Paul Polman and Meghan Markle, and many others to harness the knowledge and skills needed for being impactful change makers.
Ms. Tanzi runs an enterprise named ‘Protibha’ which provides financial literacy and sustainable earning opportunities for rural women of the country. She is working for the past five years to bring peace, prosperity, and sustainability to rural areas by offering financial opportunities to women in need. Ms.Tanzi has also empowered 400+ youth across the globe to take social actions for Sustainable Development Goals. She has been awarded the prestigious Diana Award for her social actions taken to support marginalized communities.
