BRAC University on Thursday (16 August 2018) organised a discussion on National Mourning Day remembering Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman whose voice and vision guided the people of Bangladesh to win freedom and the right to self-determination.
Freedom fighter Professor Md Abdul Mottalib, PhD, Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, gave the keynote speech at the discussion session organised at BRAC University. He said that the country is going forward to become a developed nation which our great leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had dreamt of. “It is very necessary for everyone to follow his ideology to protect the hard-earned independence” he added.
Heads of BRACU departments and units paid homage to Bangabandhu and discussed how the Father of the Nation through his ideology and lifelong work continues to make indelible impact on the life of the nation.
Historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was also screened at the programme and cultural performances including songs and poetry recitations were staged.
Chairperson of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Professor Shahidul Islam Khan, PhD, Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Monojit Kumar Ojha, Director of office of Co-curricular activities, Ms. Dilara Afroz Khan, Deputy Director of Administration, Mr. Md. Nurul Islam, among other guests, were present at the occasion.
