Brac University (BU) ranks GLOBAL TOP 50 for ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1: No poverty’ in Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2020. According to THE Impact Rankings BU’s performance has been found to be particularly encouraging in delivering the goals in university’s research on poverty and their support for poor students and citizens in the local community.
THE University Impact Rankings 2020 announcement was released at London on 22 April, 2020. The standings of BU are 201-300 (SDG 3), 201-300 (SDG 16) and 301-400 (SDG 17) globally in their rankings. BU gets the 1st position in Bangladesh and 301-400th globally.
THE Global Impact Rankings measure the social, economic and environmental impact, in alignment with the United Nations SDGs. The SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by United Nations Member to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. SDG 3 stands for ensuring good health and well-being, SDG 16 stands for promoting peace, justice and strong institutions and SDG 17 stands for strengthening global partnerships to achieve the goals.
