A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University (CPJ BRACU) and Dr. Wazed Research and Training Institute of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (DRWTI BRUR) on 5th July 2018 at BRUR campus. Vice-Chancellor of BRUR and Director of DRWTI, Prof. Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BNCCO and the Executive Director of the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRACU Barrister Manzoor Hasan OBE signed the MoU on behalf their respective institutes.
The MoU will help the both institute to implement a project “Empowered Women Peaceful Communities” funded by UN WOMEN Bangladesh. Under this project, CPJ will provide training to 150 female students of BRUR on Peace-building, Leadership and Entrepreneurship. In addition, the MoU will pave the opportunity to the teachers and students of the two universities for extending mutual assistance and cooperation in research and academic activities to promote peace, social justice and inclusive society.
Associate Professor of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of Dhaka Dr. Saber Ahmed Chowdhury, Academic Coordinator of the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University Mr. Shahariar Sadat, Project Coordinator and Research Coordinator of Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University Muhammad Badiuzzaman, Manager, Capacity Developmen Ms. Parveen Sultana Huda, Research Associate Mr. Zia Uddin, Lecturers of Department of Political Science of BRUR Razia Sultana, Mahua Shabnam and Kuntola Chowdhury and other officials of the universities were present.
