BRAC University (BRACU) will create future leaders having the courage and conviction to do both the right things and things right to build the university and the nation, said Vice Chancellor Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, PhD, on Wednesday, 03 January 2018.
“You are the leaders of tomorrow,” he told some 1,600 freshers at “Freshman Orientation - Spring 2018” organised by BRACU at Golf Garden in Dhaka. It is the first of three orientations to be held this New Year.
Presenting the inaugural speech, Professor Andaleeb praised the students for choosing BRACU, which has been ranked as the top private university in Bangladesh in QS Asia University Rankings 2018.
He also shared the success story of BRAC Onnesha, the first Nano-satellite launched by a Bangladeshi university, which he said was BRACU’s biggest achievement.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Ansar Ahmed presented the closing remarks saying, “BRACU makes you a complete individual who feels not only good about his/her own achievements but more about what has been done for others.”
Two video presentations were screened giving an overview of BRACU and its residential campus at Savar.
Representatives of administrative departments also gave presentations regarding their services and some BRACU alumni reflected on their on campus experiences.
All department heads, faculty members and administrative staff welcomed the students along with their parents, who attended the orientation.
