BRACU Dichari, a robotics team from the School of Engineering of BRAC University, visited the office of the Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh on 30 May, 2022 at the invitation of Charles Whiteley, Ambassador & Head of Delegation. It was against the backdrop of BRACU Dichari becoming the first Bangladeshi team to qualify for European Robotics League alongside securing a spot as one of the top five finalists of the tournament. The finals will be held in Poznan, Poland this year and the team is expected to fly there on 15 June, 2022.
The team received a warm welcome from the ambassador and the entire EU delegation. Members of the team gave a presentation on their project for the tournament. The project overview included working methods, features, applications, and other aspects. They also gave a demonstration operating their rover and drone outdoors. The team had a brief discussion with the ambassador and the EU delegation on the project and its practical application.
Accompanying the team, Dr David Dowland, Registrar of BRAC University, presented the university’s annual report “Two Decades Making an Impact -- Story of BRAC University” to Ambassador Charles Whiteley at the end of the meeting.
