BRAC University’s Research for Development Club (BUReD) successfully launched its highly anticipated flagship event, Extendiars 2024, recently. The event, a research-based competition, showcased innovative ideas and strategies aimed at solving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the commendable research efforts of its participants.
The event featured thirteen teams and an esteemed panel of judges. The competition was divided into two segments, each focused on the theme of sustainable development in Bangladesh.
The first segment, the Idea-Presenting Contest, witnessed eight teams presenting their groundbreaking research. Judges provided participants with constructive feedback, offering deep insights to guide their work. Following a short break, the second segment—the Poster Presentation—saw five remaining teams displaying their vibrant and informative research posters.
The judges praised several exceptional ideas, which sparked engaging discussions during the lively Q&A sessions, leaving a lasting impact on both participants and attendees.
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, graced by the honorable Registrar of BRAC University, Dr. Dave Dowland, whose presence added a special significance to the occasion. Participants were honored with crests and certificates, celebrating their hard work and dedication.
The competition crowned Shrek4 and Eco-Feast as winners for their outstanding performances, while teams Bio-Troopers, GreenSparks Duo, Genesis X, and Solara were recognized as remarkable runner-ups.
BUReD extended heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished judges—Dr. Tarnima Warda Andalib (Assistant Professor, BBS), Md.
