On October 19, a day-long Capacity Building and Mental Health Engagement event held at BRAC University in collaboration with BIED and the Outreach Team of BRAC University along with Sir John Wilson School. The event aimed to enhance mental health awareness and provide valuable insights into capacity building. 180 teachers from Sir John Wilson School actively participated in the session.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. David Dowland, University Registrar. Dr. Erum Mariam, Executive Director of BIED, delivered an insightful speech emphasizing the importance of mental health. Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, Vice Chancellor of BRAC University, shared inspiring words that set a positive tone for the day.
The program was hosted by Deepti Sarkar, Senior Manager, Office of the Registrar.
The session took place in the Exhibition Gallery. Following this, interactive mental health sessions were facilitated by BIED psychologists with the teachers of Sir John Wilson School.
A feedback conversation was held in the Lecture Theater, where Sabrina Shaheed, the Principal of Sir John Wilson School, expressed gratitude toward BRAC University and shared enthusiasm for future collaborations.
The program concluded with a campus tour and lunch, providing participants the opportunity to network and share experiences.
