The Counseling Unit of BRAC University has organized a workshop on Understanding Anger on 30th March 2022. In this session, the facilitators, Ms. Safina Binte Enayet, Ms. Kazi Rumana Haque, and Ms. Tanzila Huq have involved with participants through sharing, discussing, and listening to the anger situations as well as coping strategies.
The whole arrangement has covered the topics of the definition and types of anger, trigger points of rage, and some management and prevention tips. This journey was wrapped with lots of laughter, humor, and learning. “ Where there is ANGER, there is always pain underneath”- these are not just words being used to describe this most common emotion of human life, but an analysis of how we shape our anger as an individual, said the facilitators. In human life, anger is an integral but discouraged emotion with different behavioral gestures in different situations and relational dynamics. After this pandemic, we all face many complications in family relationships, especially in couple relations. These complications often get awful due to expressing those wrapped with anger.
The facilitators put emphasis on understanding the root causes of anger to deal with this emotion with meaningful and healthy strategies. To understand it, one can share our own stories and listen to others. Besides, one can explore, escalate, and enhance his or her potential, strengths, and resources within us to deal with this shaky time together.
